Overview

Smart banners are informational headers displayed at the top of emails scanned by Trustifi. They provide security-related information about the sender and email content, helping users assess the validity of incoming messages.

Enabling Smart Banners

To enable smart banners, navigate to the Security Banners page (Inbound Management > Inbound Shield > Security Banners).

From there, select “Enable” to apply the feature to all mailboxes.

Alternatively, you can exclude certain mailboxes or apply it only to specific ones in the “Status” section. After you finish, click on the “Update” button.

Smart Banner Configurations

Once security banners are enabled, you may choose to enable or disable specific configurations that affect the look and behavior of these banners.

Skip for internal emails

If this setting is enabled, smart banners will only apply to emails from external senders, and will not appear for emails sent from internal domains.

Skip for contact emails

When enabled, smart banners will not be applied to emails sent from the recipient's known contacts.

Allow report

Enable this configuration to allow users to report emails as safe or as malicious directly from the smart banner. Reporting is done by one of 2 buttons that appear in the banner:

  • “Report email” will report the email as malicious

  • “Trust email” will report the email as safe

When reporting is enabled, a quarantine record will be created for all emails containing a smart banner.

Add “External” note

When this configuration is enabled, the smart banner will notify when emails are received from external senders.

Add positive feedback

When enabled, the smart banners will also display “positive” information about the sender or the email – for example if the email is sent from a known contact, or from a trusted source.

Show “Learn more” link

When this configuration is enabled, the security banner will contain a link to the technical documentation of Security Banners terminology.
