Smart Allowlisting Process

Prev Next

Overview

The process of allowlisting senders has become much more secure. You can now allowlist your trusted contacts without exposing your organization to spoofing and impersonation attacks. Thanks to Trustifi's smart allowlisting process, you no longer need to compromise between productivity and security, and no additional configuration is required on your end.

How Does It Work?

Whenever you allowlist a sender's email address, Trustifi creates a unique signature for that sender. Then, when an email is received from this address, Trustifi compares the email attributes to the signature on record.

If the signature matches, then (and only then) the sender will be treated as a trusted and allowlisted contact.

Signature Mismatch

If the received email's signature does not match the signature on record, the email will be labeled as suspicious, indicating a possible impersonation or spoofing attack on your trusted contacts.

This can also happen for legitimate reasons, such as a change in your contact's email infrastructure. If you believe the source of the email is trusted, simply allowlist them again to update their signature.

How to Update a Sender’s Signature

  1. Navigate to the Email Activity page (Inbound Management >  Email Activity) in the Trustifi web app and open the quarantined email in the portal

  2. Review the email to confirm it is from a trusted source

  3. Click "Allowlist" in the “Sender Actions section to re-allowlist the sender with a new signature
